Kaitlyn
Clinical Lead &
Adult Speech Pathologist
Kaitlyn is an adult and aged care Speech Pathologist with HM Speech. She graduated from the University of Newcastle. After initially pursuing a career as a Legal Secretary and realising it was not the right fit, she decided to study Speech Pathology with the goal of making a meaningful difference in people’s communication and swallowing abilities.

She moved from the Central Coast of NSW to Port Macquarie in 2019 with her husband and two children. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her family and working on home renovation projects.

Her clinical interests include working with people following stroke, swallowing disorders (dysphagia), and Parkinson’s disease. She is trained in The SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program by Parkinson Voice Project, a highly evidence-based voice treatment for people with Parkinson’s disease. She is passionate about improving access to communication for all individuals and works closely with families to support their loved ones.

She has completed training in mealtime management for people living with dementia and incorporates these skills to provide a holistic approach when supporting individuals with eating and drinking.

In 2023, she established a communication group for people living with dementia, which has been highly rewarding and has received very positive feedback. The success of this program has allowed it to continue as an ongoing service offered at HM Speech.
