Hi,
I'm Deme
My Story
I am an adult Speech Pathologist with HM Speech. I graduated from the University of Newcastle NSW. I grew up on the mid-north coast and in 2019 my partner and I relocated back to the area. Previously I have worked in the disability sector as a support worker. My time in the disablity sector has assisted me to better understand how communication and swallowing difficulties can impact patients lives on a day to day basis. I have a special interest in providing therapy and support to those with degenerative conditions i.e. Parkinson’s disease, MND and MS.
Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors, camping and volunteering with the Country Education Foundation. I am currently part of a working group, aimed to support and encourage local high school students to attend University or complete higher education.
My qualifications and further study includes:
- MSPA & CPSP
- Country Education Foundation working party member
- Banaam Indigenous Cultural safety training
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate
- Key Word Sign training
- LSVT LOUD ® certified
